There are many ways to position yourself for success in the workplace. Below are a few suggestions to consider to help you reach your professional goal (s):

1. Limit yourself from engaging in work conversations that involve bad-mouthing or gossiping about an employee(s).

2. Refrain from using statements such as "that is not in my job description" or "I don't get paid enough to do that" when given extra responsibility or an assignment to complete that is outside of your traditional job scope.

3. Acknowledge all project deadlines by completing them before they are due. If you need extra time, submit that request in advance.

4. Be kind, thoughtful, helpful, positive, and, overall, a team player. In other words, be the person people like and want to be around to work with or for.

5. Invest in self-care. Burn-out is real and you cannot complete everything on your "to-do" list. So, make sure you are prioritizing responsibilities based on their level of importance. Remember, the work will always be there when you return in the morning.

6. As much as possible, be solution-focused. What does that look like? If you have a complaint or an issue in regards to organizational processes, provide ways that leadership can look at addressing the concerns. It's appreciated when you can offer them a starting point to resolve a problem.

7. Work every day as if you were making a six-figure salary by not letting your current title or salary dictate how well you work.

8. Be flexible.

9. When a colleague offends you or you are faced with a confrontation, step back and give yourself time to understand the situation before reacting.

10. Know your self-worth and consume as much knowledge in your current position by way of professional development or extra assignments.

These are just a few of ways you can continue to influence your place of employment. Show up and be your best version. Look forward to seeing how it goes.

Best of luck!
